He graduated high school from Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA. and attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, where he earned a degree in Geology and Environmental Science. He works at the Pohatcong Township School as a fifth and sixth grade science teacher. His family is most important to him, he loves spending time with his wife and two sons. Together, they camp, hike, hunt, and fish whenever possible. This will be his third year involved with the Riegel Ridge Summer Camp.

JohannaJohanna Meeker – Nurse

This will be Johanna’s third summer as Camp Nurse at RRSC where first aid, medication administration and health awareness really fills her day. Johanna raised her family in Pohatcong Township where she first met Simeon Pecchia substituting as the school nurse. After nine years of working as a substitute school nurse, including summer programs, she took a full time position in a Special Education classroom. This allowed for her summers to be free so she could join the Riegel Ridge team. Working and playing outdoors are very important to Johanna. Hiking, camping, paddling and biking fill her free time. The campers have helped by adding wonderful memories and excited eyes to her outdoor experiences. She looks forward to seeing campers grow through their camp weeks and from year to year nurtured by the Riegel Ridge community.

Nicholas Nocella

Hello, my name is Nicholas Nocella and this will be my 7th year as a camp counselor at Riegel Ridge. I currently reside in Alexandria Township and graduated from Delaware Valley High School in 2013. This upcoming fall, I will be starting my senior year at Penn State University studying speech language pathology with a minor in special education. I am currently on the dean’s list and a member of the PSU Honor Society. After graduation, I plan on attending graduate school to further my studies in becoming a speech language pathologist. This career choice is based on my drive to help, support and treat people with disabilities and to impact their lives in a positive way. Being a camp counselor at the Ridge has always been an exciting time for me. The new activities planned each summer, trips, staff and kids made it a very memorable and enjoyable experience. I enjoy TaeKwonDo, running, skiing and reading books on historical events. I also keep active by volunteering my time in a variety of charitable events. I look forward to another fun and exciting time at Riegel Ridge Summer Camp 2016!
